The artisanal production of a sorghum broom 🌿

The steps in making a sorghum straw broom:
- Cultivation and drying: The sorghum is cultivated with care, then the straw dries naturally for several months in the fields.
- Humidification: The straw is slightly re-humidified to make it more flexible and easier to work with.
- Construction of the broom core: Thanks to the sections of sorghum straw which reinforce the top of the broom and give the broom its volume and shape.
- Broom cover: Several layers of straw are wrapped around the core using wire, using a machine called a “mounter”.
- Final sewing of the broom: The broom is finally sewn using a “broom press”, thus ensuring a neat and durable finish.
